On May 12, 2015, groundbreaking ceremony of Mega Reservoir PRPSs (Packages E) contracted by CGGC No.5 Company and CGGC International Company was held in Umm Silal'ait, Qatar. Presented at the ceremony are Abdullah bin Khalid Al-Thani, Premier of Qatar, officers of Qatari government, representatives of Kahramaa and engineering consulting company, and Manager of CGGC Qatar Company.
At the ceremony, what the joint venture formed by CGGC and other contractors was highly appraised by officers of Qatari government and the Employer. Premier Abdullah bin Khalid Al-Thani have strong confidence that Mega Reservoir PRPSs (Packages E) is to be constructed an excellent project with the devotion of CGGC and its partners.
An integrated water supply system is to be formed once Mega Reservoir PRPSs, the largest reservoir in the world, connected to seawater desalination plants around Mega Reservoir. The project is capable of meeting the water demand of 7 days for Qatar and helpful to promote safety of drinking water for local residents and advance local economic development. Mega Reservoir PRPSs (Packages E), with construction period of 36 months, located in 30km from Doha, includes five main reservoirs with 496 thousand cubic meters, one pressure pump station, 33.2km long main pipes and auxiliary facilities.
