The New Era Nantong Painting and Calligraphy Masters Invitational Exhibition kicked off on May 11 in the Nantong Economic & Technological Development Area, or NETDA – located in Nantong city in East China's Jiangsu province.
The exhibition of paintings – which runs to May 23 – includes 87 works that are rich in style and subject matter. They reportedly have a strong sense of modernity and artistry, displaying new achievements in the construction of Nantong's reform and opening up and expressing the artists' love of their hometown.
It is understood that the NETDA hopes that their aesthetic visions will help carry forward innovation and the spirit of exploration in the region.
The other hope is that the exhibition will enrich the lives of residents and help strengthen their cultural identity and cultural confidence.
The NETDA Free Trade Zone got the original go-ahead, on Jan 3, 2013, from the State Council, for a 5.29-sq-km area, in two parts.
