With an area of 2,600 mu (173 hectares), the medicine and health industrial park attaches importance to the development of drugs, bulk drugs, health care products, the introduction of intermediate manufacturers, and research and development institutions of bio-medical products. It aims to promote the research, development, and industrialization of high-end medical device products. At present, there are over ten enterprises above designated size, including Biomics and Novast Pharmaceuticals, with products covering areas such as pharmaceuticals, medical devices and health food.
The NETDA Free Trade Zone got the original go-ahead, on Jan 3, 2013, from the State Council, for a 5.29-sq-km area, in two parts.
