The awards ceremony for the "People Touching Nantong Economic & Technological Development Area or NETDA of the Year" – as well as a performance to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China – took place in the Nengda Theater on April 29.
The event – held in the NETDA, located in Nantong city in East China's Jiangsu province – attracted 500 participants, including officials from the local government, representatives from local businesses and the heads of primary and secondary schools.
Some 18 individuals received 10 awards including accolades for "the most beautiful and inspiring person", "best devotee", "best craftsman", "the most beautiful person of urban construction", as well as "best educator" and "best entrepreneur".
The NETDA Free Trade Zone got the original go-ahead, on Jan 3, 2013, from the State Council, for a 5.29-sq-km area, in two parts.
