Overview

Kunshan Tourism Resort was acknowledged by Jiangsu Provincial Government in 1994，making it one of the earliest tourism resort zones in Jiangsu. It covers an area of 330 sqm, and consists of four towns and Yangcheng Lake Tourism Center.

After two decades development, tourism industry in KTR has realized its transformation from a single-function tourism destination to be a complex that integrates sightseeing, recreation, holiday, business conference and leisure. Now under its jurisdiction there are 1 quintuple A scenic area, 2 quadruple A scenic area and 1 triple A scenic area.

It is known as the cradle of Kunqu Opera, which is the origin of all other forms of opera in China. Kunshan is the birthplace of Mr. Gu Yanwu, China's great philosopher, whose words "Everyone is responsible for the rise and fall of his country" is frequently quoted nowadays. The Yangcheng Lake, which is within Kunshan’s territory, is the home of Yangcheng Lake Hairy Crab. Kunshan Tourism Resort is located at the south of Kunshan, and holds four towns and one center. There are millennium-old Zhouzhuang town, which is best known as China's No 1 Water Town, Jinxi town, acclaimed as the Chinese capital of folk museums. The time-honored historic town of Qiandeng has the longest stone slab street in China and Bacheng town by the Yangcheng Lake can please your palate with the most delicious hairy crabs. The center refers to Dianshan Lake, which is a model town in China for its balanced development. The KTR enjoys abundant tourism resources, cultural heritage and top natural environment.
