Is there any chance (that…) 表示“有沒有可能……”，比如：Is there any chance of meeting the professor? 有可能見見這位教授嗎？這句話也可以簡化成“Any chance of meeting the professor?”
4．What are old friends for?
這句話本來是“What are friends for?”，因為Nash 和Hansen認識多年，所以Hansen就說“What are old friends for?”
“What are friends for?”，意思是“朋友本來就是這樣的”，表面上這是一個問句，問“朋友是做什么的”，但其實它是一個陳述句。當你的朋友對你表達感激之情的時候，中文里我們會回答說“為朋友兩肋插刀是應該的”，而在英文里就是 What are friends for 了。例如：
