Higher education institutions must embrace AI, from providing computing resources at the institutional level, to teachers mastering AI tools; from introducing AI assistants in teaching, to embedding AI into scientific research scenarios, and comprehensively enhancing management efficiency. AI is profoundly impacting every aspect of education, technological innovation, and governance, injecting new momentum into the nation's high-quality development.

The remarks were made by Ding Kuiling, a deputy to the National People's Congress and president of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, during the 2026 national two sessions.
