"If my health allows, I will help them and treat them all my life," said Maolixialifu Hapa, a 70-year-old doctor in China's Xinjiang. Rather than stay at a research institute after graduating in 1976, he returned to serve villagers, applying his knowledge and skills in traditional Chinese medicine to the people. For decades, he has been both doctor and friend, bringing care where it is needed.
