Antiquities and modern works go under the hammer
For both collectors and general audiences, the autumn preview of the Yongle Auction, currently on display at Beijing's Phoenix Center until Sunday, offers a journey of discovery, inspiration, and sheer visual delights, featuring hundreds of antiquities and modern creative works.
Visitors can admire exquisite examples of classic Chinese paintings by renowned artists, such as Shen Zhou from the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), as well as modern reformers like Lin Fengmian and San Yu, who incorporated Western artistic techniques into Chinese brushwork.
The exhibition celebrates the diversity of arts and crafts, providing a unique opportunity to trace the evolution of contemporary Chinese art over the past four decades. It also highlights the rise of pop culture through the integration of Chinese cultural elements, including the highly sought-after Labubu dolls.
Sales will take place from Dec 15-18.
