State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power guarantees steady electricity flow for Spring Festival

Staff members from State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power visited Xiaozhong village, Suichang county in Zhejiang on Jan 14 to conduct servicing in time for residents returning home for Spring Festival.

The operation involved a comprehensive inspection of the village power lines and distribution equipment, and special checks on the carrying capacity and load characteristics of the distribution lines, aiming to provide consistent electricity supply for them.

As Spring Festival approaches, a large number of migrant workers are returning to their hometowns, posing significant challenges to rural power supply.

To address potential risks such as substation overload and heavy loads caused by the Spring Festival travel rush, State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power has established a linear load forecasting model based on distribution automation systems, historical electricity usage data, population shift and fluctuations in electricity demand due to weather changes. Through big data analysis, the company has achieved precise management of electricity usage by returning individuals.

In order to ensure safe and reliable electricity usage, State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power has fully utilized the advantages of "grid-based" services.

The company has coordinated with communities and village committees to learn about the return times of migrant workers, and distributed service cards to households in advance, while promoting awareness of safe electricity usage.

Additionally, the company has actively promoted its online public account to help customers overcome difficulties encountered during online payment and service.

In response to the increased use of electric vehicles during the Spring Festival holiday, State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power has conducted early inspections and maintenance on charging facilities. They have also stationed personnel at popular stations to ensure smooth charging for electric vehicle owners.
