Former European Commission officer backs China-EU cooperation

Angele Kedaitiene, a former European Commission officer, has emphasized that China-EU cooperation is very important right now for Europe, which is not just struggling with post-pandemic recovery, but is also hit by the Ukraine crisis. She notes that China-EU freight trains are preferred by enterprises in recent years as they are environment-friendly.

And the China-EU Investment Agreement, if ratified, will certainly benefit both sides, she says. As for China-EU cooperation, she believes it is important to leave existing disagreements for future dialogues and resolution, but move ahead with the basics, good cooperation in economics, climate change, digital transition, science, education and people-to-people contact.
