In the past 12 months of 2019, some international events must have caught your attention that made you sad or hopeful, that set your blood racing. Whether it's a disaster or a triumph, a scandal or a celebration, the past gives us inspiration for the future.

What is the one word in your view that captures the global mood of the past year? What do you reflect on 2019 and what do you want to embrace in 2020?

This book brings together 15 leading thinkers from around the world to discuss international issues, and it is going to be published in 15 languages in different countries.
