China-US trade dispute: What do you think?

Continuing the trade war by hiking the tariffs will kill the US economic recovery which Trump needs to win reelectionre-election. Trump knows that he can’t afford to lose the elections due to an economic downturn which is the likely result of a prolonged trade war.

China is already moving away from export-oriented manufacturing industries to a domestic -market focused on technology and the services economy, making the old complaints about technology transfers effectively moot and academic as indigenous innovations become the engine of growth for China’s economy.
