"We're incredibly proud of the success of this one-of-a-kind, world-class destination, and we are thrilled to give our Chinese guests even more to explore and enjoy at the resort," said Bob Iger, chairman and chief executive officer of the Walt Disney Company.
Located in Pudong district, Shanghai Disney Resort is the largest Sino-US cooperation project in the modern service industry.
It received 11 million visits in its first year after opening in June 2016, which was a "tremendous success," according to Iger.
