Bomb disposal experts wear 26 kg suit

Explosive Ordnance Disposal team (EOD) of armed police in Chongqing need to wear 26 kg suit when they remove explosives during training and work, reported dfic.cn on Friday.

Zhang Yi, one of the team members, said: "Every operation is a life and death gamble for us. You come home safe if you win, but it will be a disaster if you lose."

Specialist needs two teammates to help them wear the suit. Zhang Yi was drenched in sweat wearing the suit just for half an hour during training although the temperature was only about 10 degree Celsius.

Their first training is needlework. They have to thread six needles in 10 seconds to pass the test, which tests accuracy, calm and stabilization.

Zhang can thread seven needles in 10 seconds after years of training.
