Listen to Taiwan's heart beat at Sun Moon Lake

The most common way to tour Sun Moon Lake is by boat.

The Sun Moon Lake and the Alishan Mountain are the two most famous trademarks of Taiwan tourism and first-time visitors to Taiwan usually make sure they visit the two scenic areas.

According to my own personal preferences, Sun Moon Lake does not really seem better looking than the many alpine lakes dotted throughout the Chinese mainland. However, what's made it special is its encompassing aura of Taiwan ingenuity.

Sun Moon Lake, the only natural lake on the island of Taiwan, is praised as the heart of Taiwan, not only because its central geographic location, but also for its role as home to five major hydropower plants which provide electricity for the rest of the island, just like the blood sent from a person's heart to other parts of the body.
