NBA players, legends and dance teams highlight return of NBA Nation tour to 14 Chinese cities

Winners of the NBA Nation Peak 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament will receive a trip to the US to watch an NBA game

BEIJING, July15, 2014 – NBA Nation, the NBA’s largest free fan basketball and lifestyle touring event, will travel 16,900 kilometers across China for the third consecutive year from July 19 to Sept 14, giving fans of all ages an opportunity to participate in basketball contest, stay active and healthy with NBA players, Legends and dance teams.

The Houston Rockets Power Dancers and Miami Heat Mascot “Burnie” will tip-off the festivities in Guangzhou on July 19, while Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors will attend the Shenzhen stop on July 25 to participate in basketball activities, sign autographs and interact with fans. As the tour continues, other NBA players will make appearances including Miles Plumlee of the Phoenix Suns and Mason Plumlee of the Brooklyn Nets, Reggie Jackson of the Oklahoma City Thunder and Ben McLemore of the Sacramento Kings.

All NBA Nation attendees can take their experience to the next level by registering for their free NBA Jam Band bracelet. NBA Jam Band is a personalized wristband using Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology that will allow fans to access NBA Nation attractions and experiences, receive photos to share with friends via social media and have the opportunity to win prizes and tickets to the NBA Global Games 2014 in Beijing and Shanghai presented by ZTE featuring the Brooklyn Nets and Sacramento Kings.

Fans will have the opportunity to showcase their skills at the NBA Nation Peak 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament in all 14 cities. The respective city champion of the tournament will win NBA merchandise and Peak products, with the overall champion awarded atrip to the U.S. to watch an NBA game and interact with NBA players. This year more than 900 teams will compete in the tournament.

In its continued effort to support health and wellness, NBA China will partner with the China Youth Development Foundation to conduct NBA FIT Clinics in seven cities. During the clinics, NBA players and Legends will teach students basketball skills and lead them through a series of exercise routines while emphasizing the importance of living an active, healthy lifestyle.

In addition to featuring NBA talent, the ancient Chinese Three Kingdoms characters will also be represented at NBA Nation. Each fan will be assigned to one of the Three Kingdoms to compete in oncourt activities, video games and 3-on-3 tournaments.
