Siming's new cultural landmark: Jinbang Academy launches year-round cultural program

Jinbang Academy in Siming district, Xiamen, recently launched its year-round cultural activities program. The annual cultural events are structured around four major thematic sections, introducing and nurturing high-quality cultural resources while promoting outstanding Siming cultural products to wider audiences.

The "Jinbang Gathering" series, dedicated to preserving intangible cultural heritage (ICH), will organize a month-long ICH-themed centenary tea table event along with seven hands-on workshops and eight exhibitions, featuring seven master artisans including Cai Chaorong, a national-level inheritor of Xiamen's lacquer thread sculpture, to revitalize these ancient cultural traditions.

At the event, one major attraction that drew crowds was a special ICH exhibition of Gu Geh (Sticky Rice Tortoise Cake) in the Jinbang Art Space.

The exhibition hall displayed dozens of tortoise cake molds and patterned pastry molds from different historical periods and in various sizes. To enhance the visitor experience, the organizers prepared traditional tortoise cakes made using these vintage molds, inviting people to savor this edible cultural heritage.

Another highlight was the exquisite aesthetic installations at Jinbang Academy. The Chinese-style photo wall, located in the academy's new era civilization practice square, blended with the venue's classical ambiance, transporting visitors into a scene reminiscent of traditional ink paintings.

Beyond the diverse onsite activities, Jinbang Academy has also developed an official Xiaohongshu (RedNote) IP account. Moving forward, it will leverage a unique "knowledge + entertainment" approach to deliver comprehensive online content from a fresh media perspective.
