Key projects launched to serve Maritime Silk Road

Key projects of the Maritime Silk Road Central Legal District (MSRCLD) Free Trade Zone in the Xiamen Area of the China (Fujian) Pilot Free Trade Zone was launched on Sept 7 in Xiamen, East China's Fujian province, on the sidelines of the 24th China International Fair for Investment and Trade.

The first batch of overseas service projects of the Maritime International Legal and Business Integration Service Base includes the Brazil service center, Russia service center and Arab region service center, which aim to provide comprehensive, professional and reliable cross-border services for Chinese enterprises going global and foreign businesses investing in China. They will facilitate the expansion of overseas service channels and promote the mutual connectivity of legal resources internationally and domestically.

The Intellectual Property Service Supply-side Agglomeration Zone introduced new projects to enhance Xiamen's IPR protection application system, promote the transfer and practical application of intellectual property, and contribute to establishing a demonstration area for IPR protection applications, helping to strengthen Xiamen's intellectual property system.

Since the launch of construction on MSRCLD in Xiamen in 2021, the Xiamen Area of China (Fujian) Free Trade Pilot Zone has leveraged its advantages in international trade, maritime affairs, intellectual property, and finance to focus on the development of the "International Legal Operation Platform" and the "Intellectual Property Supply-side Agglomeration Zone". This effort is meant to create a preferred destination for international commercial and maritime dispute resolution services, a demonstration area for IPR protection applications, and a hub for legal development across the Taiwan Strait.
