The 2018 Yuelai Summit Forum was held at the Yuelai International Conference Center in Chongqing on Jan 15.

Eight experts and scholars gathered at the forum to discuss topics in five major areas including exhibition, ecology, sponge city, smart city, and literature and art.

Wang Jumeng, president of the Chongqing Yuelai Investment Group, gave a keynote speech saying that Yuelai New City will be built into a livable city that offers great business opportunities and is attractive to tourists.

According to Zhang Guohua, president of the Urban Center Transportation Planning Institute of the National Development and Reform Commission,"Yuelai is planning to tap into new businesses in the community such as the coffeehouse next to the conference center, which has great development potential."

In 2017, Yuelai Group began construction on the first community in Chongqing to use green energy central heating. The Zhongjieneng Yuelai Renewable Energy Supply Project covers an area of 3.11 million square meters, with a total investment of 661 million yuan ($102.79 million). When completed, it will reduce coal consumption by 14,849.87 tons annually, reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 34,316.7 tons, and sulfur dioxide emissions by 205.58 tons, bringing immeasurable benefit to the nearly 50,000 citizens in the city.

Statistics show that the Chongqing International Expo Center located at the Yuelai exhibition center has received 9.6 million visitors and stimulated consumption worth 50 billion yuan ($7.78 billion) since it was put into operation in 2013.

To further develop industry, Yuelai Group will build a large government conference hall, several four-star hotels, 25 restaurants, 15 leisure facilities, and 12 shopping centers, with hopes that the area can host more international conferences and attract more exhibition companies.
