Youcare Pharmaceutical Group Company held a groundbreaking ceremony in Daxing Bio-medicine Industry Base, where it will build the country’s largest pharmaceutical warehouse logistics base, on September 6. The drug warehouse will be equipped with an automated sorting system, a pilot test workshop and an incubator for scientific research for nation-wide industry integration.

The project covers 8.87 hectares with an investment of 1.26 billion yuan ($0.19 billion). The pharmaceutical warehouse logistics base will have seven floors, one under the ground and six above; each floor will have 5880 square meters of building floorage, including office space on the sixth floor. The warehouse space will be equipped with an automated sorting system and will be able to hold 100,000 cubic meters of cargo. The building above the ground is expected to be finished in 10 months and is scheduled to begin service one and a half years after that.

An official of Youcare Pharmaceutical Group Company said that the logistics base will greatly decrease manual operations and improve efficiency.

Youcare Pharmaceutical Group has many pharmaceutical factories and enterprises in Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Anhui and Henan. Different medicines are produced in different cities requiring a high logistics level. The project is the first logistics base for the group; bases will also be built in Shanghai, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Anhui and Henan.

The second phase of construction will build a pilot test workshop and production base. The production base will produce tablets, capsules, and injectable compounds. The pilot test workshop’s functions will include research and development and testing.
