Urban construction work in Haidong New District to be accelerated

The government will strive to achieve its vision of developing Haidong New District into a new spotlight of the urbanization for prefecture-level cities in the province this year, according to the report. A series of measures will be implemented, including land expropriation, living supporting facilities improvement, business projects acceleration and the creation of new-type financing models.

Downtown area of Zhanjiang to receive makeover

Three old areas of Zhanjiang will be developed into central business districts this year, as part of wider efforts to beautify the city. Yinfan and Dongju parks have also been earmarked for development and completion within the year. Road works will be pushed forward to allow the south part of Guangzhouwan Avenue to be completed before Oct 1. The report also outlined historical areas and buildings in the city under government protection to maintain the cultural features of Zhanjiang.
