The long-awaited Nanjing week opened in Milan, Italy on July 7. The week-long series of exhibitions and events held at Expo Milano 2015 hope to bring exposure to Nanjing, the capital city of China’s Jiangsu province.
Yunjin brocade is one of the Nanjing specialties on show throughout the week. The silk-weaving handicraft is so exquisite that only one inch of material can be knitted each day, commanding a high price among buyers.
A set of three pop-art posters combining yunjin with food was issued on July 7. The posters featured Chinese, English and Italian words for hello, thank you and delicious.
