Zone provides employment info for rural job seekers via text messages

Registering with an employment information platform of the Chengdu High-tech Zone in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan Province, job seekers can receive an influx of employment information catering to their specific needs.

The information includes the position and wages the employer will provide as well as the employer's phone numbers.

According to the Labor, Personnel and Social Security Bureau of the Chengdu High-tech Zone, the platform is aimed at helping rural job seekers.

They may not be able to use the computer easily. But it is certain that everyone has a mobile phone, said an official from the bureau.

After a month of trial operation, the platform has an information base with the information of more than 200 frims and 2,400 job seekers.

Some 20 job seekers have found jobs thanks to the base, according to the bureau.
