NE Chinese city hosts Sino-Russian Party Forum

The second Sino-Russian Party Forum was held on October 9th in Suifenhe, Heilongjiang province. Wang Qishan, Vice Premier of the state council of China and Alexander Zhukov, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, attended the opening ceremony and gave respective addresses. They were also present at the opening ceremony of the 2009 China Famous Commodity Fair and visited the exhibition.

During his Heilongjiang visit, Premier Wang inspected border trade at Suifenhe railway port. He put emphasis on the strategic significance of speeding up the development of border trade, strengthening port service and hard and soft infrastructure construction. Systematic barriers of hindering border trade development should be done away with, Wang added.

Wang also stressed that cooperation between governments, enterprises and non-governmental organizations across the border is expected to be promoted in order to accelerate border trade development.
