With flowers in their hair, villagers of Xunpu village burn incense in honor of the sea goddess Mazu, March 10, 2013. Every year, the villagers - who are believed to be descendants of Arab traders – don colorful costumers and put fresh flowers in their hair for the festival held on the 29th day of the first lunar month to pray for happiness and safety for those who make a living from the sea near Hui’an city in East China’s Fujian province.
