Reuniting families torn apart by work

Ten-year-old Xiao Han (R) rehearses the moment he will perform for the parents he has not seen in two years. He and his older sister Xiao Fen have been living with their grandparents for seven years after their mother and father moved to find work in the labor-intensive city of Dongguan in South China’s Guangdong province. They are among a number of youngsters getting the chance to reunite with their parents for four days under a scheme sponsored by Shaoyang county of Hunan province.
