改革促進派 (gaige cujinpai): Reform promoters

At the 12th meeting of the Central Leading Group for Comprehensively Deepening Reform, President Xi Jinping encouraged officials to play the role of reform promoters. In official selection and promotion, Xi said, officials should shoulder heavy responsibilities and overcome difficulties in their work. Officials who are willing to work for and are good at reform will be promoted to important positions, he said.

Xi emphasized that leaders at all levels should have a correct understanding of the overall situation of reform and the change in interest relationship in order to further promote reform in an all-round way.

On understanding the overall situation of reform, Xi urged officials to do whatever can benefit the overall reform, benefit the development of the Party and the country's cause, and benefit the management system in a certain field. Officials should not be afraid of self-revolution and have the courage to face problems. They should tackle the problems by furthering the reforms.

China is in transition, which requires reform in many fields. Leaders and officials are important for successfully propelling reform in this period. Xi requires officials to be reform promoters and correctly deal with problems on the path of reform, by strengthening officials' determination, making them more dynamic in reform and helping them achieve new breakthroughs in the next stage.
