1.Anhui-style architecture
Hongcun is unique among all Chinese villages for its sophisticated water system. Water is the main feature of this village.
The architecture, with fantastic stone carvings, was created during the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911) and is widely regarded as the best historic sites in China. To prevent the spread of fires and also to water the plants, the locals built a water system based on fengshui.
