6. Muslim Quarter

The Muslim Quarter in Xi'an is the center of the Muslim community. The area was the home of the ancestors of the Hui people in history, who were businessmen, diplomats and students and who came from ancient Arabia, Persia and the Western Region. After long years of integration, the Muslim Quarter was formed.

Food and souvenir markets are the special features of the area. The Beiyuanmen Muslim Market can be found just to the north of the Drum Tower. Some buildings are restaurants, while others are stores. After touring the city, visitors can enjoy many different kinds of snacks.
