Should divorce be made more difficult?

I suppose it gives you time so if you're mature enough you'd think about what you are giving up before you divorce, or it will give you more time to decide between the two of you how to split up the assets. But for sure when children are involved there are things that are being discussed between husband and wife (or between exes) for 18 years how to raise that child so there's no quick or easy way to dispose of the responsibilities one has if there are kids involved.
