Should tattoos be banned in workplaces?

Editor's Note: Many job seekers are rejected because they have tattoos that incur the displeasure of interviewers, even though they are perfect for the position. Do you think it is reasonable to bar employees with tattoos or showing them in the workplace?

Tattoos in China are often associated with negative criminal images such as the mafia or hoodlums. If job seekers apply for a position in sales, many potential Chinese customers would have an antipathy to seeing tattoos and turn down the wearer's service or goods.
