New elephant house at Kunming zoo starts operation

A new elephant house started operations on 1 Sept; and a pair of pandas -- Deng Dan and Kun Kun also moved into their new house.
The new elephant house is about 6,500 square meters, which is almost twice as big as the old one. There's also a one-meter-wide path around the elephants' activity areas that elephants can walk around. The activity areas of Deng Dan and Kun Kun are separated and each activity area has mud in its center.
A visitor told the journalist that she had visited the old elephant house as well and she felt that the new elephant house brought her a better perspective to watch the elephants.
