Wudang Mountains promote tourism construction

For the 600 birthday of the Wudang Mountains in 2012, the city will not only promote urban construction and infrastructure projects, but also facilitate scientific development.

On Feb 13, Wudang Mountains Sanfeng square officially started construction. The project is a large-scale service facility with a total investment of 360 million yuan ($57 million) that covers an area of 40 thousand square meters. Currently, Wudang Mountain has finished some of its infrastructure projects, such as closing the railway tunnel and governance over the mountain slope.

Wudang Mountains has carried out many key projects, like Taichi Lake primary school and kindergarten, Yuxu palace, and Laozi statue (a philosopher in the Spring and Autumn Period). It has started 10 projects, including: Wulong Palace; Parents Dian of Yuxu Palace; Wudang International Conference Center; Wudang Pier; Taichi Lake Lanwan Pier; Shandi Sport Park; Water Search and Rescue Center and Yacht Club; Sandao Park and Laozi Museum; Wudang Film Base; and transformation of the highway exit.

In the second half of 2012, Wudang Mountains will set up another 10 projects. These include: exaltation of the Yuzhen Palace and Baxianguan restoration; cableway from Wulong Palace to Nanyan; Wulong Palace Visitor Center and Wulongpengsheng Statue; Taichi Lake Hospital; five-star huts hotel; transformation of the Taichi Lake Avenue; residents transformation in the old town and both sides of Jianhe areas; construction of Taichi Lake tourist area main road and road along the lake; line changing of Yuzhen Palace section in State Road 316; and highway upgrading from Wudang Mountains door way to Wuyaling highway.

There are also 10 projects will be completed at the end of 2012. These include: Wudang Tourism Center; Taichi Theater and Wudang Art Museum; Taihe House and Taihe Villa; greening on both sides of the new district; Taichi Lake International Hotel; Taichi Lake primary school and kindergarten; Wudang Mountains Sanfeng Square; Wudang Mountains International Martial Art Academy; Ziyun Pavilion Hotel; reparation of Wulong Palace, Xuandi Dian, and Chaobai Dian of Yuxu Palace.

In order to promote the construction of key projects, Wudang Mountains has carried out activities for remediation and cleaning up. Until now, it has investigated 56 cases for violation of city management and 35 illegal buildings of approximately 3,000 square meters in size.
