Datong city in Shanxi province held an international model airplane festival at the Beiyue Airport on Oct 2 and 3, attracting more than 2,000 visitors.
The two-day festival sponsored by Shanxi Aeromodel Sports Federation, Datong sports bureau and Datong Sports Federation was held with the aim of popularizing model airplanes and encouraging more teenagers to learn about aerospace technology.
Model airplane producers and masters as well as over 300 aeromodelling enthusiasts from 50 cities in China and five other countries took part in the event.
