A female calligraphers' association was founded in Taiyuan on March 11, filling the gap in Shanxi's female calligraphers' social organizations.
The rules for the association were passed and Xu Xiaomei, a famous Shanxi calligrapher, was selected as the chairman of the association at the founding ceremony, which 60 representatives from seven cities in Shanxi attended.
A calligraphy exhibition by Xu Xiaomei in celebration of the association’s founding was held after the ceremony.
