Shanxi will seize the opportunities brought about by the Astana Expo in Kazakhstan which will be held from July 7 to 11, to raise its profile and expand into the Eurasian market.
More than 400 different kinds of local products will be exhibited at the expo, according to a news conference held in Taiyuan on May 24.
In addition, "The Shanxi Week" –– focusing on future energy and green Shanxi –– will be held at the China Pavilion from July 7 to 9 when a series of exhibitions, trade fairs and promotion meetings are scheduled. Events such as the "Shanxi Brands Silk Road Tour" in Kazakhstan, exhibitions on the latest technologies of Shanxi's new energy industry and a conference promoting Shanxi tourism will be held.
Through the expo and Shanxi Week, Shanxi aims to help local companies invest, develop resources and build production bases in Kazakhstan and other central Asian countries which are rich in mineral resources.
Shanxi businesses are encouraged to expand into the Eurasian market and further international partnerships in industries through partnering with trade organizations along the Belt and Road.
The Astana Expo 2017, with a theme of future energy resources, is expected to attract more than 5 million visitors. It's the first time that a world expo has been hosted by a central Asian country. More than 118 countries and 20 international organizations have confirmed their attendance.
