Shanxi will hold its first art festival in Taiyuan in September, showcasing and promoting its unique art and culture from different aspects.
During the festival, exhibitions and performances involving local opera, folk customs, intangible cultural heritage, and calligraphy will take place to further visitors' interest and understanding about the province.
All theaters, exhibition halls and universities across the city of Taiyuan will take part in the festival, making the activity the largest art event organized in Shanxi, according to Wang Hui, a member of CPPCC Shanxi committee, during Shanxi's two sessions in January. Preparations for the festival are now underway.
