On Oct 26, the China Non-Government Enterprise League, the National Statistical Society of China and the Enterprise Research Center of the China Academy of Management Science jointly issued the Top 500 Chinese Private Enterprises list in 2014. Eight companies from Shanxi are included on the list.
The companies are Meijin Energy Group, Shanxi Dachang Group, Shanxi Jianbang Group, Shanxi Antai Holding Group, Shanxi Tongda Group, Shanxi Qinxin New Energy Group, Shanxi Tongzhou Coking Group and Wintime Energy Co. They respectively rank 235, 253, 260, 282, 311, 375, 388 and 463 on the list. These enterprises involve various industries, including the service industry, ferrous metal smelting industry, manufacturing industry and mining industry.
Different from last year, Highsee Group, Liheng Steel, Shanxi Changping Group and Lubao Coking Group are out of the list. Meijin Energy Group, Shanxi Jianbang Group, Shanxi Antai Holding Group and Shanxi Tongda Group still hold their positions as Top 500 Chinese Private Enterprises in 2014. Meijin Energy Group and Shanxi Jianbang Group climbed respectively from 316 and 427 to 235 and 260. Shanxi Antai Holding Group fell from 218 to 282, while Shanxi Tongda Group dropped from 280 to 311.
As an enterprise in the service industry, Dachang Group ranks second among the eight listed enterprises. This is different from the situation in previous years where the heavy industries, including coking and steel, monopolized the top ranked companies.
In 2014, the gross operation revenue of the Top 500 Chinese Private Enterprises is 13.08 trillion yuan ($2.14 trillion). The average gross operation revenue is 26.13 million yuan, a year-on-year growth of 18.98 percent. The top three enterprises are Suning Commerce, Legend Holdings and Shandong Weiqiao Pioneering Group Co.
