The 2nd Shandong Cultural Consumption Season and the 11th Shandong Culture and Art Festival came to an end on Nov 9 in Jinan, Shandong province.

The cultural consumption season was launched in July and lasted for nearly four months. It covered six fields, including fine art appreciation, fashion, cultural tourism, traditional craft, digital culture and the humanities.

According to data released by the Shandong provincial department of culture and tourism, Shandong carried out more than 10,000 cultural activities during the event, involving the participation of about 110 million people.

Related discount coupons issued in Shandong province totaled 92.6 million yuan ($13.3 million), directly driving consumption of 370 million yuan. About 92.16 million people visited the related online cloud service platform, which indirectly boosted consumption by 8.18 billion yuan.

Li Guolin, an inspector of the Shandong provincial department of culture and tourism, said that this is the second consecutive year that the cultural consumption season has been held. It has been successful in promoting Shandong’s rich cultural resources to a wider audience and also established a long-term mechanism to promote cultural consumption.

It has effectively enriched the cultural life of the people, according to a local official.　

During this year's consumption season, Shandong held the 11th Shandong Province Cultural and Art Festival, the first Taishan Cup Cultural and Creative Design Competition and the 5th China Intangible Cultural Heritage Expo.
