The fifth Qingdao International Sailing Week closed on Tuesday in Qingdao of East China's Shandong province after 11 days of intense competitions and related activities.

More than 40 world-renowned sailors were invited to the event. A total of 700 athletes and coaches from the United States, Holland, the United Kingdom, France, Australia and other countries took part in the international yacht race. A total of 500 citizens and tourists from home and abroad participated in the themed sailing experience week.

Aiming to promote Qingdao's "sailing capital" image and ocean-related economy, this year's sailing week covers 30 events, including the international Olympic sailing culture exchange, international sailing races, the Qingdao teenager sailing training camp, and sailing culture and entertainment activities.

The sailing week coincides with the 23rd Qingdao International Beer Festival.
