Fishery Seed Industrialization Base of Qingdao National Research Center for Marine Science and Technology is located on islet bay of Aoshanwei town, Jimo city. In 2002, Qingdao municipal government made a strategic decision on construction of Fishery Seed Industrialization Base of Qingdao National Research Center for Marine Science and Technology with judging the hour and sizing up the situation, and put forward a constructive goal of building a “national largest scale, highest technical content, First-class construction grade” base.

Basic introduction of the base

The fishery seed industrialization base, a joint venture co-invested by Jimo government, Ocean University of China, Yellow sea fisheries research institute Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences, the Institute of Ocean logy, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shandong Mari culture Center, Qingdao ChangSheng Zhongke Marine Feed Co., Ltd. and Qingdao Seacul Turbot Research Institute Co. Ltd., has been totally invested by 230,000,000 yuan. Up to now, 130,000m2 construction engineering area has been accomplished accumulatively and 50,000 m3 water volume for aquaculture and larval rearing has been filled in the whole project areas, which provide good production condition for each unit in their project area. Ocean University of China is working on industrialized Mari culture of Acipenser sinensis and Cynoglossus semilaevis. Healthy larval rearing for “Yellow sea 1” Fenneropenaeus chinensis is in progress by genetic and breeding center of Yellow sea fisheries research institute. Shandong Mari culture Center is breeding and culturing the Scophthalmus maximus，Paralichthys dentatus, Marsupenaeus japonicus and Stichopus japonicus in their project area. The Institute of Ocean logy, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Qingdao Changsheng Zhongke Marine Feed Co., Ltd are ongoing the processing production of “Haisente”and “Haijiate” feed in the aquatic feed workshop invested by them. Qingdao Seacul Turbot Research Institute Co., LTD is breeding the Centropristis Striata and Stichopus japonicus larvae in their project area. Aquatic high quality breeding workshop, invested by Jimo government, is breeding shrimp, Hybridization abalone and sea cucumber.
