The winter fishing in Laoyuegou reservoir attracted tens of thousands of visitors to witness the exciting moment of netting a great number of wild fish, on February 1.

A natural fishing ground located in Jilin city, Laoyuegou dam keeps a tradition of getting wild fish during winter, and it sees a good harvest this year.

"You see, we’d netted a good haul of fish, roughly 30,000 kilograms," said Feng, who takes charge of the dam.

The netted fresh fish found favour in visitors’ eyes, as fish is an important ingredient for making the upcoming Chinese New Year’s dish.
