The 13th China Azalea Exhibition will be hosted at the Xihui Park and Huishan Ancient Town, Wuxi, on April next year.
The Xihui Park will build a 4,000-square-meter landscape belt with 4,000 azaleas.
The China Azalea Expo is the biggest and most influential azalea festival in China, integrating tourism promotion, cultural events and business activities.
Wuxi has held the annual azalea festival since 1960s, and identified azalea as its city flower in 1983.
The first China Azalea Exhibition held in the Xihui Park in 1987 promoted Wuxi at home and abroad. Later, Wuxi hosted the events in 2003 and 2005 respectively.
Now, there are some 600 varieties of azaleas in the Xihui Park, which has the largest gene pool of azaleas in China.

Xihui Park
Located in the northwestern part of Wuxi, Xihui Park consists of two hills – Huishan and Xishan hills.
The park was established in 1958 and commands historically famous views overlooking the city, the adjacent Grand Canal and the nearby Taihu Lake.
Inside the park are eighteen major historic and cultural sites with national, provincial or municipal reputations.
Months from May to October are the best time to visit the park.

Huishan Ancient Town
Huishan Ancient Town is located 2 kilometers west of Wuxi. It has turned into a scenic spot featuring the history and culture of Wuxi, and is often complimented as the “outdoor history museum”.
The town is the blend of culture and natural beauty. Inside the block stand national-level cultural relic protection sites, such as ancestral halls. In addition, there are five provincial and ten city-level sites.
