It is administrated and supported by the Ministry of Science and Technology and State Environmental Protection Administration, with its construction and administration project listed in the Priority Development Planning.
It is also designated by the Jiangsu Provincial Government to be the demonstrating base of a recycling economy. By the end of 2006, it has attracted 100 foreign-funded companies from over 20 countries and regions, with a total accumulative investment of $one billion.
