An open book, a steamy coffee, and the Chinese words meaning "library inside" comprise the logo of a new type of library in Taicang.

The city library of Taicang has created miniature libraries inside four coffee and tea houses in downtown area since July.

The four stores have 1,000 to 3,000 books for borrowing and reading, updated every half year. The digital logs of each location are synchronized to the city library's network.

The?Taicang residents visit the store-libraries because they are close to residential blocks and contain a wide range of choices. The city library plans to set up more such libraries, requiring that the floor space for?each store should be over 20 square meters.
