Asia Cycle 2016, an annual exhibition for high-quality bicycles and components, got underway in Kunshan, Jiangsu province on Oct 15.

Held in Kunshan for the third consecutive year, the exhibition attracted some 100 overseas and domestic bicycle enterprises, putting hundreds of bicycles and components on show.

A highlight of the exhibition was the Kunshan Power section, dedicated to promoting cutting edge products made in the city.

Kunshan is now home to more than 100 bicycle enterprises, including industrial leaders such as Giant, Shimano and Kenda.

The city's export of mid-market products accounts for two thirds of Jiangsu province, and its high-end exports account for a quarter of the whole country.

A bicycle-themed carnival was staged at the exhibition, including performances by local bands and Kunqu Opera studios, BMX stunt shows, indoor cycling experience activities like spinning, and even bicycle-shaped balloons for kids.

A special forum on prospects in the bicycle industry was held, inviting experts and business leaders from the mainland and Taiwan to share their startup experiences and solutions to various problems.
