China's eastern city of Kunshan played host to the sixth China Consumption Economy Forum, as well as the first "Cycling around the World" Summit on Oct 15.

The forum, supported by the China Bicycle Association, attracted some 150 experts and business representatives from the bicycle industry.

Despite traditionally riding bicycles as a type of urban transportation, it is now more common to cycle as part of a healthy and environmentally friendly lifestyle.

In line with this trend, the forum held a wide range of lectures and seminars on bicycle design, public bicycle renting services and management, "slow city" development, and cycle tourism.

The experts also held discussions on how to better inspire different cities around China to embrace cycle tourism.
