It contains the Wuxi (Mashan) National Life Science Park, Wuxi (National) Industrial Design Park, Wuxi Taihu New City Science and Education Industrial Park (K-PARK), Wuxi (Binhu) National sensor Information Center and Lihu Science and Technology Park, and was the first district to integrate urban and rural social security and assured retirement, which made it an entrepreneurial paradise, ecological garden site and harmonious place to live.

In the field of tourism, it has three national AAAAA tourist attractions, four national AAAA tourist attractions, and seven national agricultural tourism sites, along with the Lingshan Scenic Region (the famous Lingshan Buddha and Brahma Palace), and the CCTV Film and TV Base used for the TV series - the Romances of Three Kingdoms and the Water Margin, as well as Lihu Lake, East China’s largest scenic spot, Ri-Star Hot Springs Resort, the Ferris Wheel on Water, and the old town of Rongxiang.

As a birthplace of modern industry and commerce, it was home to many tycoons and heads of commercial enterprises, such as Rong Desheng, Rong Zongjin and Rong Yiren; the king of coal and iron, Zhou Shunqin; the kings of flour, brothers Wang Yaochen and Wang Yuqin, and the king of telecommunications Rong Yuequan.

It currently has at least 180 businesses in tourism: 17 hotels that can accommodate foreigners and are star grade, with three of them 5-star and six 4-star; 23 travel agencies, one of them 5-star and two 4-star; seven national agricultural tourism demonstration sites and 17 municipal star-grade agri-tourism sites, two of them 5-star. All of this demonstrates the rich resources, thriving tourism, and the favorable environment of Binhu.
