Awards ceremony concludes Ordos Nadam fair and culture conference

The major events of the third Ordos International Nadam Fair and the first Ordos International Creativity and Culture Conference concluded on Aug 27 in Ordos, Inner Mongolia autonomous region.

An awards ceremony was held in Ordos Theatre and attended by Bai Yugang, secretary of the Ordos municipal Party committee, Luo Ming, head of the Industrial Culture Development Center of MIIT, Song Weizu, chairman of the first Ordos International Creative Design Competition's jury, some of the judges, and other Ordos municipal officials.

Mayor Niu Junyan addressed the ceremony. On behalf of the city, he extended congratulations to the events' athletes and participants and his appreciation of the judges, referees, media, volunteers and other personnel.

In the past six days, Ordos has held a series of successful international events, including a marathon, an equine cultural festival and?the Asia Beach Soccer Tournament. These events not only heralded a "higher, swifter and stronger" sportsmanship and promoted exchange and cooperation among countries and regions, but also presented the charm of Ordos, according to Niu.

The awards ceremony gave sportsmanship awards for the major events of the nadam fair and to the winners in the first Ordos International Creative Design Competition, a part of the first Ordos International Creativity and Culture Conference. The first International Ordos Creativity and Culture Conference, with a variety of activities, has attracted a group of experts, scholars and the outstanding representatives of different cultural fields.

A total of 4,874 works were submitted for the competition, with participants coming from 31 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions. An entry from Shaanxi province won the competition's organizing committee prize of one million yuan.
